Q: What are lash extensions?
A: Lash extensions are a semi-permanent synthetic fibers used to create more volume and length to the natural lashes
Q: What are lash extensions made of?
A:Lash extensions are made of a premium synthetic material called PBT ( Polybutylene Terephthalate ). It is a synthetic semi- crystalline engineered thermoplastic or is a thermoplastic engineering polymer. All lashes, whether they are called synthetic mink, synthetic silk, supermini , etc... are made of this material.
Q: How are extensions applied?
A: We use a formaldehyde-free professional eyelash extension adhesive to apply a single faux eyelash to each of your natural lashes ( or a customer made fan of several lashes in the case of a volume lash set). The side of each extension will be selected and custom matched to each natural lash to ensure that it is a safe length and weight for the natural lash that it is being applied to. We are trained to create a custom design specific for your natural lashes and desired outcome.
Q: Is the adhesive safe?
A: Yes! Our adhesive has low fumes and has an 8 week hold time.
Q: Can I wear makeup with lash extensions ?
A: Mascara and eyeliner are not recommended as the oils can break down the bonds of the adhesive. If you are wearing eyeshadow or eyeliners, proper cleansing is imperative.
Q: How long do eyelash extensions last?
A: This will depend on several factors, the biggest one is how well you maintain your lashes. To maintain your lashes , fill appointments are necessary every 2-4 weeks to replace the lash set that have shed or outgrown naturally. We always advise that after the initial set of extensions a fill should be done at 2 weeks as they may have lost or shed more that normal due to the time of their shed cycle.
A: Since the extensions are applied to your existing natural lashes, away from the base and don't touch the skin, the natural lash is not harmed. The eyelash extensions do not force the natural lash to shed or break unless improperly applied or an extension that is too heavy for the natural lash is used.
Q: Will extensions hurt or harm my natural lashes?
Q: Will I be able to sense that I am wearing extensions?
A: The extensions are placed 1 millimeter away from the base of the natural eyelashes, therefore you wont be able to feel the extensions.
Q: How long does an eyelash extension application take?
A: A full set of lashes can take anywhere from 1.5-4 hours. This will depend on the type of lashing being applied, the experience of the lash technician and how many natural lashes a client has.
